Confined Space Entry
Confined spaces can pose significant hazards to workers. Understanding the dangers and precautions associated with confined space entry is critical for preventing injuries and fatalities on the job. Confined spaces, such as tanks, vessels, silos, and pipelines, often have limited or restricted means for entry and exit, as well as limited natural ventilation, creating a potentially life-threatening environment.
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported 1,030 workers died from incidents involving a confined space from 2011 to 2018, highlighting the importance of proper training and safety measures. This course will equip learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely enter and work in confined spaces.
Content Overview
The primary goal of this course is to teach workers safe work procedures to follow when entering a confined space in a work environment. The user will learn how to:
- Equip confined space PPE
- Inspect and select a safety harness
- Work with an attendant
- Test the air quality of a confined space
- Follow a confined space entry permit
The Confined Space Entry simulation is ideal for future employees or supervisors who work in or around work environments that utilize confined spaces.
