Look Inside a Real-World Globe Valve | Industrial Cutaways for Technical Training (DAC Worldwide)
In this introductory video, we will discuss the benefits of using Cutaways in a technical classroom. Specifically, we will look into the purpose of a globe valve, and how the inner mechanics of the component work.
The purpose of a globe valve is to move a closure member into and out of a seating surface, which regulates process flow in an actuator assembly. Glove valves can be used across numerous technologies, like cooling water systems, fuel oil systems, and feedwater systems. As you can see, a DAC Worldwide cutaway is much more interactive than a Powerpoint, or sketching on a white board. They allow students to see exactly how its internal configurations operate.
Essentially, a globe valve fluid flows through the valve until it is blocked off. The closure plug becomes properly seated by rotating the handle clockwise, which will restrict flow. The flow continues by spinning the handle counter-clockwise, raising up the plug.
Being able to show your students the inner workings of real-world components is an invaluable teaching tool, and a great way to amp up your video training.
